Artist: Linda Parr, UK

Work: The Iberian Endeavour I & II – ‘The Best Book I’ve Never Made’

I should like to submit at least one and perhaps two books to this exhibition.
At the moment I anticipate exploring the relationship and tensions between the Portuguese and the Spanish, at the time of the voyage and for these bicentennial celebrations.

The work would be a small edition. It would be for sale. The works are likely to be A4 size or less, and price is likely to be in the region of £30 – £60.

To be included in ‘A Material Book of Conceptual Books’ (Partial Press).

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

I’m a book artist, printmaker and writer, based in Wiltshire, UK.
I enjoy exploring the use of text in art, and text as art. My recent work revolves around analyses of literature from Shakespeare to Pratchett; using reading with inquiry as an artist to make a personal interpretation. I’m influenced by the practices and publications of the Oulipo movement and Information as Material.
